turvaküsimus
Turvaküsimus, often translated as "security question," is a common authentication method used to verify a user's identity. It typically involves a user answering a pre-selected question with a personal, memorable answer. These questions are often set up during account creation or registration processes for online services, banking, or other sensitive platforms. The purpose of a turvaküsimus is to provide a secondary layer of security, intended to be used when a user forgets their password or needs to prove their identity through alternative means. Examples of common turvaküsimus questions include "What was the name of your first pet?" or "In what city were you born?". The effectiveness of a turvaküsimus relies on the user choosing a question with an answer that is both easily recalled by them and difficult for unauthorized individuals to guess. However, the security of turvaküsimus has been debated, as answers can sometimes be discovered through social engineering, public records, or by compromising other accounts where the information might be shared. For this reason, some systems are moving towards more robust authentication methods, such as two-factor authentication.
