tsytosiiniin

Tsytosiiniin is a synthetic peptide antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. It is a member of the lipopeptide family of antibiotics, which includes vancomycin and daptomycin. Tsytosiiniin was developed by the Russian pharmaceutical company Vector Institute of Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms. It is administered intravenously and has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE).

The mechanism of action of tsytosiiniin involves the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to the lipid II precursor of the bacterial cell wall, preventing the formation of new peptidoglycan chains. This leads to the disruption of the bacterial cell membrane and ultimately results in cell death.

Tsytosiiniin is generally well-tolerated, with common side effects including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Serious adverse reactions are rare. The drug is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment or those who are allergic to any of its components.
