tsukubensis
Psilocybe tsukubensis is a species of mushroom in the family Hymenogastraceae. It is known for its psychoactive properties, containing psilocin and psilocybin as its primary active compounds. The mushroom is native to Japan, specifically found growing on dung and in pastures, often in humid environments. It is characterized by its small to medium size, with a conical to bell-shaped cap that is typically brown to yellowish-brown and a slender stem. Bruising blue is a common characteristic, indicating the presence of psilocin.
The species was first described by Japanese mycologist Tsuguo Hongo in 1959. The name "tsukubensis" is derived
