trovarsi

trovarsi is an Italian pronominal verb derived from the verb “trovare” (to find) combined with the reflexive pronoun “si”. In its literal sense it means “to be located” or “to be situated” and is used to indicate the position of a person, object or situation. The verb is conjugated like other regular –are verbs: mi trovo, ti trovi, si trova, ci troviamo, vi trovate, si trovano. In the passato prossimo it forms with the auxiliary “essere”: mi sono trovato/a, ti sei trovato/a, ecc., agreeing in gender and number with the subject.

Beyond the spatial meaning, trovarsi is employed idiomatically to express a state or condition.
