Treeand is a neologism describing a hypothetical data-structural concept that merges tree-like hierarchies with conjunction-based filtering (the logical AND). It is not an established term in standard data structures, but it appears in academic discussions, experimental software notes, and speculative design contexts as a way to model multi-criteria queries over hierarchical data.

Conceptually, a treeand model extends a traditional tree by attaching attributes to nodes and enabling conjunctions across conditions. Query evaluation traverses the hierarchy while enforcing all required conditions, either along a path from root to leaf or across subtrees. The AND operation can be applied at different granularities: within a node’s attributes, between sibling branches, or across an entire path, effectively intersecting criteria to prune non-matching branches.

Variants often describe different evaluation strategies, such as path-based conjunction where a valid leaf must satisfy all conditions on its route, or subtree-based conjunction where a parent and its descendants must collectively meet the criteria. Implementations emphasize pruning and indexing to avoid exploring branches that cannot satisfy the conjunction, with potential trade-offs in preprocessing time and space.

Applications discussed in theoretical contexts include hierarchical access control, product catalogs with multi-attribute filtering, and semantic search over structured data.
