Transkateterte is a term used in medicine to describe procedures or devices that are introduced into the body through a catheter. This approach is minimally invasive, meaning it involves smaller incisions compared to traditional open surgery. The catheter, a thin, flexible tube, is guided through blood vessels or other body cavities to reach the desired location. Once in place, the catheter can be used to deliver a variety of treatments or to implant devices.

Examples of transkateterte procedures include angioplasty, where a balloon is inflated within a narrowed blood vessel to widen it, and stent placement, where a small mesh tube is inserted to keep the vessel open.
