tillsvidareanställning

Tillsvidareanställning, or permanent employment, is a contract of employment in Sweden with no predetermined end date. It is the default form of employment and is common for most job hires. The arrangement is governed primarily by the Lagen om anställningsskydd (LAS – the Employment Protection Act) and by applicable collective agreements.

A tillsvidareanställning lasts until terminated by either party. The employer can terminate only with valid grounds

In contrast, a fixed-term or temporary contract (visstidsanställning) ends on a specified date or upon the completion

Employees with tillsvidareanställning enjoy standard employment rights and protections, including paid holidays, sick leave, and parental
