teostuseta

Teostuseta is an Estonian adjective meaning “not carried out” or “unimplemented,” describing something that has been planned or proposed but has not yet been realized or produced. The word is formed from teostus (execution, realization, production) and the suffix -eta, which signifies absence. In this sense teostuseta is used to indicate status rather than quality.

It is used across domains such as the arts, literature, film, music, and business to denote that a work, project or action has not been executed. For example, a theatre program might list several plays teostuseta if there is no scheduled performance; a manuscript may be described as teostuseta when it has not yet been published or staged. In project management or public procurement, a proposal or planned activity may be described as teostuseta until funding is approved and arrangements for execution are in place.

The opposite concept is teostatud, meaning that something has been executed or produced. Teostuseta is thus primarily a status label used in planning, documentation and catalogs to distinguish between envisioned and realized works. The term is relatively formal and may appear in planning documents, scholarly writing, or administrative contexts rather than everyday speech.
