Temperaturlikhet, often translated as temperature equality or thermal equilibrium, describes a state where two or more objects or systems are at the same temperature and there is no net flow of heat between them. This condition is fundamental to understanding heat transfer and thermodynamics.

When objects are in thermal contact, heat naturally flows from the hotter object to the colder one. This process continues until both objects reach the same temperature. At this point, they are in thermal equilibrium. Even though individual molecules are still in motion and exchanging energy, the average kinetic energy of the molecules in each object is the same, resulting in an equal macroscopic temperature.

The concept of temperaturlikhet is closely related to the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics, which states that if two systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third system, then they are in thermal equilibrium with each other.
