Telakuormaaja, in Finnish often referred to as a tracked loader, is a type of heavy machinery that combines a front loader with a tracked undercarriage. It is designed to move and load loose materials on construction sites, mining operations, forestry, agriculture, and other demanding environments. Compared with wheeled loaders, telakuormaajat distribute their weight over continuous tracks, which improves flotation on soft, uneven, or muddy surfaces and provides better traction in challenging terrain. The trade-off is typically slower travel speeds and higher undercarriage maintenance.

A telakuormaaja consists of a rigid frame, a hydraulic loader arm, and a front bucket or attachment. Many models use rubber or steel tracks and are offered with interchangeable attachments such as forks, grapples, mulchers, augers, or trenchers, often via quick-coupler systems. Operating weight, bucket capacity, breakout force, and hydraulic flow vary by size; compact models are common for tight spaces, while larger units deliver greater material handling capacity.

Typical uses include stockpiling and moving bulk materials, backfilling and site preparation, loading trucks and hoppers, snow and debris removal, and light earthmoving. In forestry or waste handling, they may operate with specialized grapples or material-processing attachments.

Safety and operation emphasize trained operators, pre-shift inspections of tracks, undercarriage, and hydraulics, and adherence to load and slope limits. Operators should be aware of rollover risks on steep terrain and maintain clear visibility of the work area.
