Tasemetele is a traditional weaving technique associated with the fictional Tasemete people in the region of Valara. The term denotes a method of interlacing natural fibers to create flexible, patterned mats and baskets.

The name is drawn from the Tasemete language, where tasé indicates fiber and mele te means to weave. In scholarship, tasemetele is often described as a core craft that reflects regional aesthetic traditions and social practices.

Common materials include reed, bamboo, rattan, and bark fibers. The process typically involves preparing fibers, then twining and plaiting sequences to form panels, followed by edge finishing and sometimes dyeing for color accents.
