Tamponád is a medical procedure involving the insertion of a tamponade, which is a material used to absorb bodily fluids or to apply pressure to a wound. This technique is employed in various medical contexts to control bleeding, absorb discharge, or support tissues.

In dentistry, a periodontal dressing, sometimes referred to as a tamponade, is placed after certain surgical procedures to protect the surgical site, reduce pain and swelling, and promote healing. These dressings can be made from various materials, including zinc oxide eugenol or cyanoacrylate-based compounds.
