Többemeletes is a Hungarian adjective meaning “multi-storey” or “having several floors.” It is used to describe buildings that have more than one floor. In common usage one speaks of többemeletes épület or többemeletes ház, often contrasted with egyszintes (single-storey) structures.

In real estate, architecture, and urban planning the term serves as a descriptive category. A többemeletes társasház refers to a multi-storey condominium building; the number of floors varies, typically from four to twelve or more in urban contexts. Many taller examples include space for shops or offices on lower levels and residences above, with vertical circulation provided by stairs and elevators.

Historical and regional context: In Hungary and Central Europe, multi-storey housing became widespread during rapid urbanization in the late 19th and especially the post-war period. In Hungary many apartment blocks built in the Socialist era are known as panelházak, large multi-storey concrete buildings constructed from prefabricated panels.
