Sünnitusele is a term used in Estonian to refer to the Sunni branch of Islam, which is the largest denomination within the Islamic faith. The Sunni branch is characterized by its adherence to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad and the early Islamic community, as recorded in the Hadith literature. Sunnis make up the majority of Muslims worldwide, with an estimated 85-90% of the global Muslim population identifying as Sunni.

The Sunni tradition is further divided into several schools of thought, known as madhabs, which interpret and apply Islamic law (Sharia) differently. The four major Sunni madhabs are:

1. Hanafi: Followed by the majority of Muslims, particularly in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa.

2. Maliki: Predominant in North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and parts of the Maghreb.

3. Shafi'i: Common in the Middle East, Central Asia, and parts of South Asia.

Sunnis believe in the five pillars of Islam, which are the core practices that define their faith. These pillars include the Shahada (declaration of faith), Salah (daily prayers), Zakat (charitable giving), Sawm (fasting during Ramadan), and Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Sunnis also emphasize the importance of the Hadith, which are the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad, as a source of guidance alongside the Quran.

Sünnitusele is the dominant form of Islam in Estonia, with a significant Muslim community that practices Sunni Islam. The country's Muslim population is primarily composed of immigrants from various countries, including Turkey, Pakistan, and other Middle Eastern nations. The Estonian Muslim community has established mosques and Islamic centers to cater to the spiritual and cultural needs of its members.
