Superpozici, in physics, refers to the principle that the state of a quantum mechanical system can be described as a combination of multiple possible states simultaneously. This is a fundamental concept in quantum mechanics, contrasting with classical physics where an object is always in a single, definite state.

When a system is in superpozici, it is not in one state or another, but rather in all possible states at once, each with a certain probability. It is only when a measurement is performed that the system "collapses" into one of these definite states. The outcome of the measurement is probabilistic, determined by the probabilities associated with each state in the superpozici.

A common analogy used to explain superpozici is Schrödinger's cat. In this thought experiment, a cat is placed in a box with a radioactive atom, a Geiger counter, a hammer, and a vial of poison.
