suoritettaviksi

Suoritettaviksi is a Finnish linguistic form used to express that something is designated to be carried out or completed. It is the translative plural form of the passive participle suoritettava, which conveys the sense of obligation or intention that a task or action will be performed.

Morphology and usage. The base is suoritettava (to be performed/ to be carried out). To indicate plurality and the directional “toward becoming,” Finnish adds the translative suffix -ksi, yielding suoritettaviksi. The singular counterpart is suoritettavaksi. In sentences, suoritettaviksi commonly appears in administrative, legal, or planning contexts to describe tasks, requirements, or actions that are to be executed by someone. It often functions within noun phrases or as part of a predicate, frequently with verbs like asettaa, määrätä, or tulee to express designation, obligation, or expectation. Examples of usage include phrases such as tehtävät asetettiin suoritettaviksi (the tasks were designated to be carried out) or asiat on pyydetty suoritettaviksi (the matters have been requested to be performed).
