This can involve the direct physical contact between the hot component and a heat-conducting material like a metal block or a heat pipe. The heat then dissipates from the heat-conducting material to the surrounding environment or a dedicated cooling system.

This technique is often employed in situations where space is limited or where noise reduction is a priority, as it eliminates the need for a fan. Examples include cooling of certain electronic components like processors, power transistors, or in some specialized cooling applications for machinery.
