suojadiodilla
A suojadiodi, or protection diode, is an electronic component used to safeguard sensitive electronic circuits from transient voltage spikes. These spikes can be caused by various factors, including electrostatic discharge (ESD), lightning strikes, or switching inductive loads. The suojadiodi acts as a voltage-sensitive switch. Under normal operating conditions, it remains in a high-impedance state, effectively invisible to the circuit. However, when the voltage across it exceeds a predetermined threshold, it rapidly transitions to a low-impedance state.
This low-impedance state allows the excessive current from the transient voltage spike to be shunted away from
There are several types of suojadiodit, including Zener diodes, Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) diodes, and Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor
