Suihkumoottori, commonly referred to as a jet engine, is a type of reaction engine that discharges a fast-moving jet of fluid to generate thrust in accordance with Newton's third law of motion. This principle is the basis for how most modern aircraft are propelled. The fundamental operation of a jet engine involves drawing in air, compressing it, mixing it with fuel, igniting the mixture, and expelling the hot exhaust gases at high speed.
