Substratreduktionsterapi, often abbreviated as SRT, is a class of medications used to treat certain metabolic disorders, primarily gout and hyperuricemia. These conditions are characterized by an overproduction or under-excretion of uric acid, leading to its buildup in the body. Elevated uric acid levels can cause the formation of crystals in the joints, resulting in painful inflammation known as gout, and can also contribute to kidney stones and kidney damage.

SRT works by targeting the enzyme xanthine oxidase.
