Radiation sterilization, often using gamma rays or electron beams, can also effectively sterilize materials, particularly those that cannot withstand heat.

The choice of sterilization method depends on factors such as the material being sterilized, its sensitivity to heat or chemicals, the type of microorganisms to be eliminated, and the required level of sterility.
