Styråtergång, a Swedish term, translates to "styr return" or "steering return" and refers to the phenomenon in vehicle dynamics where a vehicle naturally tends to straighten its direction of travel after a turn. This behavior is primarily influenced by the forces acting on the tires and the vehicle's geometry.

When a vehicle enters a turn, the driver applies steering input, causing the wheels to angle. Centrifugal force acts to push the vehicle outward from the center of the turn, while the tires generate lateral forces to counteract this and maintain the desired path.
