stylinodontids
Stylinodontids were a family of extinct mammals belonging to the order Taeniodonta. These animals are known primarily from the Paleocene and Eocene epochs of North America. The most distinctive feature of stylinodontids was their highly specialized dentition, particularly their incisors and canines. These teeth were continuously growing and ever-growing, similar to those of rodents, and were heavily worn. Their molars were also robust and adapted for grinding.
Stylinodontids were relatively large for their time, with some species reaching the size of a large dog
Fossil evidence indicates that stylinodontids inhabited a variety of environments, from forests to open woodlands. They
