Studieintyg, or study certificate, is an official document issued by a higher education institution or, in some jurisdictions, by a national authority to confirm an individual's status as a student. It is commonly used to prove enrollment or attendance for purposes such as visa or residence permit applications, housing, health or social insurance, tax or grant processes, and various discounts.

A studieintyg typically includes the student’s full name and personal identity number, the name of the institution, the study program or degree, the level (for example bachelor or master), the period of study (start and end dates), and the current enrollment status (full-time or part-time). Some certificates also indicate the intended end date, total credits, or the expected completion date, and they are usually issued on official letterhead with an authorized signature or seal. Many institutions provide both printed and electronic versions.

Issuance and validity can vary by country and institution. A certificate is often issued on request and may be valid only for a specified period or for a particular purpose. Privacy and data-protection rules apply, and institutions typically require sufficient identity verification before releasing the document.

Relation to other documents: A studieintyg is distinct from a transcript of records, which lists courses taken and grades. In some contexts it is equivalent to a “proof of student status” or “enrollment certificate,” with terminology and exact content differing by country, institution, and legal framework.
