Strunjire is a fictional coastal town created for illustrative purposes. It is located in Eldoria, a northern European–inspired country. It sits on a sheltered natural harbor on the Strunj coast and has about 3,200 residents. The town’s layout mixes a medieval core with a modern fishing quarter.

The name Strunjire is said to derive from an old Eldorian term strun meaning harbor bend, with the modern suffix -jire used for settlements.

Geography and climate: The town is backed by low hills and is exposed to the sea breeze; it has a temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers and relatively evenly distributed rainfall.

History: Founded in the 12th century as a fishing settlement, Strunjire gained municipal rights in 1380. Shipyards dominated the economy in the 17th–19th centuries, and tourism began to expand in the late 20th century.

Economy and infrastructure: Fishing and processing remain primary sectors, with small-scale boatbuilding and aquaculture also present. The local economy is supported by harbor services, markets, and a growing tourism sector. Strunjire is connected by a coastal road and regional bus service, with limited rail access in nearby towns and a small marina offering ferry links to several neighboring villages.

Culture and landmarks: Notable sites include Strunjire Lighthouse (1782) and the St. Marek Church (15th century). The annual Fishermen’s Festival includes seafood fairs, music, and traditional boat parades.

Demographics and governance: The town is a small municipality with a mixed age structure. Most residents speak Eldorian, and local government operates under a mayor–council system.
