Streamcarved is a term used to describe landforms or geological features that have been shaped and eroded by the action of flowing water. This process, known as fluvial erosion, is a significant geomorphic agent responsible for creating many of the Earth's landscapes. Over extended periods, the persistent movement of water, whether in rivers, streams, or even temporary surface runoff, can wear away rock and soil.

The most common examples of streamcarved features include valleys, canyons, and gorges. Rivers carve out V-shaped valleys by downcutting into the Earth's surface and widening them through mass wasting and lateral erosion. Canyons and gorges are often deeper and steeper, typically formed in areas where rock is more resistant to erosion or where tectonic uplift has increased the erosive power of the water.

Other streamcarved features can include meanders, which are S-shaped bends in a river channel, formed by the differential erosion and deposition of sediment along the riverbanks. Alluvial fans, fan-shaped deposits of sediment left where a stream emerges from a narrow valley onto a flatter plain, are also a result of stream action. The characteristic shapes and features of a landscape are often a direct testament to the erosive power and long-term influence of streamcarving processes.
