A strømaftager, also known as a current collector or pantograph, is a device used to collect electric current from an overhead power line. It is most commonly seen on electric trains, trams, and trolleybuses. The primary function of a strømaftager is to establish and maintain electrical contact between the moving vehicle and the stationary overhead conductor.

There are several types of strømaftagere. The most prevalent is the pantograph, which is a diamond-shaped or single-arm apparatus that can be raised or lowered to make contact with the overhead wire. Another type is the trolley pole, a simpler pole with a wheel or shoe at the end that slides along the wire. Some older systems and specific industrial applications might use a bow collector, which is a flexible, curved structure that presses against the wire.

The strømaftager is crucial for the operation of electric traction vehicles. It allows for the continuous supply of power needed to drive the vehicle's electric motors. The design of strømaftagere aims to ensure reliable contact under varying conditions, including speed, weather, and track irregularities, while minimizing wear on both the collector and the overhead wire.
