stookkosten
Stookkosten, in Dutch housing terminology, are the costs associated with heating a dwelling. They cover energy used to heat space and domestic hot water and may include the costs of maintaining and operating the heating installation. In many rental arrangements, stookkosten are charged to tenants separately from the base rent, either as a fixed monthly amount, a variable amount, or a combination.
Where heating is supplied centrally, the total heating bill is allocated to tenants according to agreed rules.
An annual settlement compares charged amounts with actual consumption and results in a balance due or refund.
Stookkosten influence total housing costs, and efficiency measures can reduce them: insulation improvements, thermostat optimization, regular
