Stonesoften is a term used to describe a family of stone-like composites used in architecture and interior design. The material is produced by binding crushed natural stone fragments with a binder to create panels or slabs that resemble traditional stone but offer improved uniformity and reduced weight. Stonesoften is marketed as a mid-market alternative to solid stone, combining the aesthetic of natural stone with easier fabrication and installation.

Manufacture typically involves selecting aggregate grades, combining them with a resin or cement-based binder, and forming the mixture in molds followed by curing and surface finishing. The resulting product may be pressed into high-density panels or cast into blocks and later machined.

Properties vary by formulation but commonly include densities from 1.8 to 2.2 g/cm3, compressive strengths in the range of 10 to 40 MPa, and moderate surface hardness. When sealed or treated, stonesoften shows good weather resistance and low water absorption, making it suitable for exterior and interior use. The color and texture can be engineered through the choice of aggregates and surface finishes.

Applications include wall cladding, countertops, bathroom vanities, and flooring in both commercial and residential projects. Advantages over solid stone include lighter weight, consistent thickness and color, and potentially lower material costs and installation time.
