staterného

Staterného is an obce, or town, located in the okres, or district, of Karviná in the Moravskoslezský kraj, or Moravian-Silesian Region, of the Czech Republic. The town has a population of approximately 670 residents and is situated approximately 13 kilometers northwest of Karviná.

Geographically, Staterného is situated in the Moravian-Silesian Basin in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The town is surrounded by several hills, including the Sleza Mountains to the west and the Hrubý Jeseník Mountains to the northeast. The Stolem River, a tributary of the Ostravice River, flows through the town.

The town's history dates back to the 14th century, with archaeological finds suggesting that the area was inhabited during the prehistoric period. Staterného was first mentioned in written records in 1392 when it was owned by the noble family of the Lords of Krnov. During the Middle Ages, the town was a small settlement with a predominantly agricultural economy.
