Spoloenstvo is a term used in Slovak and Czech contexts to denote a community or association of people united by a shared space, interests, or purpose. It can refer to both informal social groups and formal organizations.

In social science, spoloenstvo describes the social bonds, norms, and institutions that connect individuals within a group. It ranges from local neighborhoods and residents’ groups to larger civil-society formations, and it emphasizes cooperation, mutual obligations, and a sense of belonging.

In legal and administrative usage, spoloenstvo may denote a formal association or corporate body created to manage or govern a shared asset, such as property in a multi-unit building, common areas, or jointly owned resources. Such bodies usually operate under defined rules, hold meetings, elect representatives, and manage budgets and decision-making on behalf of members.

The term is closely related to, but distinct from, other words such as komunita (community) and spolecenstvo/spolocnost (society or company).
