A spermatozoonid is not a recognized biological term. The correct term for a single male reproductive cell is spermatozoon (plural: spermatozoa). These are the motile gametes produced by males of animals, as well as by some plants, algae, and fungi.

Spermatozoa are typically small, with a head containing the genetic material and a tail that enables motility, allowing them to swim towards the ovum. This complex biological process involves cell division and differentiation to create mature, functional spermatozoa. The number of spermatozoa produced is vast, as fertilization requires only one sperm to fuse with an ovum, and many sperm may be released during ejaculation.
