sparplatformar
Sparplattformar, Swedish for spar platforms, are offshore petroleum production facilities designed for deep water. They consist of a single, tall vertical hull—called the spar—anchored to the seabed by a mooring system. The topsides, housing processing equipment, power, and accommodations, are located at or near the top of the spar, with risers connecting subsea wells to the platform.
Design and operation centers on stability and motion isolation. The spar hull provides a large vertical inertia
Deployment and use follow a deep-water specialization. Sparplattformar gained prominence in deep-water basins where conventional jacket
Variants and evolution include different spar hull forms and integration with other floating or fixed systems.
