Skräddarsyr is the Swedish present-tense form of the verb skräddarsy, meaning to tailor clothing or other items to fit a specific person, typically by producing the item to measurements rather than buying ready-made. The act often involves close collaboration with the client, multiple measurements, and one or more fittings to ensure fit and drape.

The term skräddarsy derives from skräddare, the tailor, and sy, to sew, and is used to distinguish custom-made garments from mass-produced ones. A garment produced through skräddarsy is described as skräddarsytt, i.e., bespoke or made-to-measure.

Typical steps include taking measurements, drafting a custom pattern, selecting fabric and details, cutting, assembling, and fittings before final sewing and finishing. In many traditions, a muslin mock-up or toile is used for preliminary fittings before the final garment is cut in the chosen fabric.
