A simkaarttype, often referred to as a SIM type, designates the physical size and electrical interface of a subscriber identity module (SIM) card used in mobile devices. The primary purpose of a SIM card is to authenticate a subscriber on a mobile network, allowing them to connect to services. Over time, SIM card dimensions have evolved to accommodate increasingly smaller and more integrated mobile devices.
The most common SIM card types, listed from largest to smallest, are the Mini-SIM, Micro-SIM, and Nano-SIM.
In addition to physical size, some devices may utilize eSIM technology. An eSIM, or embedded SIM, is
