Siltaroos are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos. They are known for their unique physiological adaptations to the silty, low-gravity environment of their homeworld. Physically, siltaroos resemble a marsupial, with a pouch used for carrying their young and a distinctive, long, prehensile tail that aids in balance and locomotion across the shifting sands. Their fur is a dull, earthy brown, providing excellent camouflage against the Xylosian landscape.

Siltaroos are herbivores, primarily feeding on hardy, subterranean root vegetables that they unearth with their powerful forelimbs. Their digestive systems are highly efficient, capable of extracting nutrients from tough plant matter. They live in small, nomadic family groups, migrating across vast desert plains in search of food and water. Communication within these groups is achieved through a series of soft chirps and tail movements.

Reproduction in siltaroos involves a gestation period of approximately six Xylosian cycles, after which a single joey is born. The young are altricial and remain in the mother's pouch for several months, developing rapidly before emerging to learn survival skills from the adults. Siltaroos are generally peaceful creatures, avoiding conflict whenever possible. Their primary predators are larger, burrowing reptilian species that inhabit the deeper layers of Xylos's crust.
