silencioso
Silencioso is an adjective used in Spanish and Portuguese to denote quietness or the absence of noise or speech. It derives from the noun silencio (silence) with the suffix -oso, giving a sense of “full of silence” or “characterized by silence.” In both languages the word agrees with gender and number: silencioso, silenciosa; silenciosos, silenciosas in plural; in Portuguese silencioso, silenciosa; silencosos, silencosas.
