Signalgul, also known as *signal gully* or *signal gulch*, refers to a narrow, steep-sided valley or ravine often found in mountainous or hilly regions. These geological features are typically formed through a combination of tectonic activity, erosion, and glacial processes over long periods. The term is commonly used in regions such as the American Southwest, particularly in states like Arizona and New Mexico, where such landforms are prevalent.

Signal gulches are characterized by their V-shaped cross-sections, created by the erosive action of rivers or streams that flow through them. Over time, these waterways deepen and widen the valley, carving out steep walls and a flat or gently sloping bottom.
