scæths
scæths are a fictional species appearing in the work of author H.P. Lovecraft, most notably in his short story "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". They are depicted as a amphibious, degenerate race with a distinct physical appearance. Lovecraft describes them as having fish-like heads, with large, bulging, lidless eyes, and smooth, rubbery skin that can range in color from greenish to gray. Their bodies are often hunched and their limbs appear somewhat webbed, adapted for both land and water. Physically, they possess a more primitive, almost bestial quality.
The scæths are presented as a secretive and isolated community, primarily residing in the decaying New England
