sayujyamoksha

Sayujyamoksha is a concept within some Hindu traditions, particularly Vaishnavism, referring to a state of liberation or moksha. It is often described as the highest form of salvation, where the individual soul (Atman) achieves a state of intimate union or oneness with the Supreme Being (Brahman or God). This union is not a dissolution of the individual self into an undifferentiated mass, but rather a loving, personal communion.

The attainment of sayujyamoksha is typically understood as the result of intense devotion (bhakti) and surrender to God. Through consistent prayer, meditation, chanting of divine names, and selfless service, the devotee purifies their mind and heart, gradually shedding the ego and worldly attachments that obscure the divine presence. The belief is that through such sincere devotion, God reveals Himself to the devotee, leading to this ultimate spiritual union.

Sayujyamoksha is distinguished from other forms of moksha, such as Salokya (living in the same realm as God), Sarupya (having a form similar to God), and Samipya (being in close proximity to God). While these are considered steps on the path to liberation, sayujyamoksha represents the ultimate merger of the soul's consciousness with the divine consciousness, experiencing eternal bliss and fulfillment in God's presence. This state is considered permanent and blissful, free from the cycle of birth and death.
