Roskasähkö is a Finnish term that translates to "garbage electricity" or "waste electricity." It refers to the practice of generating electricity from waste materials, a process often associated with waste-to-energy plants. These facilities utilize various forms of refuse, including household garbage, industrial byproducts, and even certain types of biomass, as fuel.

The primary method of generating roskasähkö involves incineration. Waste is burned in controlled environments, and the heat produced is used to create steam.
