Rosinista is an informal term used in some online communities to describe a person who focuses on or advocates for the use of rosin, a solid resin obtained from pine trees. The word blends rosin with the -ista suffix, which denotes practitioners or enthusiasts. The term is not part of formal musicology lexicons and is not widely used in standard dictionaries; it is largely colloquial and regional.

In musical practice, rosin is applied to the bows of string instruments to create friction with the strings, enabling bowing. Rosins come in pale and dark formulations, and players may choose according to instrument, strings, and desired tone. A rosinista, in informal usage, might emphasize certain rosin types, application techniques, or maintenance routines—such as warming the rosin, adjusting quantity, or reapplication frequency—to optimize grip and tone. They may also discuss storage conditions and environmental effects on rosin performance.

Outside music, rosin has other industrial applications, including in printing inks and adhesives; however, the label rosinista is rarely used in those contexts, and the term is predominantly connected with musical usage.
