roostevabade
Roostevabade, often referred to as stainless steel, is a group of iron alloys known for their inherent resistance to rust and corrosion. This remarkable property is primarily due to the presence of chromium, typically at a minimum of 10.5% by mass. When exposed to oxygen, chromium forms a thin, passive, and invisible layer of chromium oxide on the surface of the steel. This oxide layer acts as a protective barrier, preventing further oxidation and thus preventing the formation of rust, which is essentially iron oxide.
The composition of stainless steel can vary significantly, leading to different grades with distinct properties. Besides
Stainless steel is widely used across numerous industries due to its durability, hygiene, and aesthetic appeal.
