Riigiaparaat refers to the entire system of state institutions and bodies in Estonia responsible for carrying out governmental functions. It encompasses the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of power, as well as various administrative agencies and public organizations. The Riigiaparaat is tasked with implementing laws, managing public services, ensuring national security, and upholding the rule of law.

The legislative branch is represented by the Riigikogu, the unicameral parliament of Estonia. The Riigikogu is responsible for drafting and approving laws, overseeing the government, and ratifying international agreements. The executive branch is headed by the Government of Estonia, led by the Prime Minister. The judicial branch in Estonia is independent and consists of courts at different levels, from local courts to the Supreme Court.
