Resonantside is a term used in some theoretical and pedagogical discussions to describe the portion or aspect of a resonant system where energy tends to concentrate due to resonance and coupling among its modes. It is not a standard term in mainstream engineering references, but it appears in writings that emphasize how specific mode directions can dominate a system's response when driven near natural frequencies.

In a multi-degree-of-freedom oscillator, resonantside characterizes the dominant mode or sideband that is most amplified under resonant forcing. It is associated with the eigenstructure of the system: the eigenvector indicating the coordinate combination along which oscillations grow largest under a given excitation, and with the corresponding frequency at which constructive interference occurs.

Identification and analysis typically use modal analysis, frequency-response studies, and time-domain simulations. Practically, the resonantside may reveal itself as a localized high-amplitude pattern along certain components or subsystems, such as a pair of coupled oscillators, a lattice of masses, or an optical resonator with mutual coupling.

Applications and relevance include vibration control, energy harvesting, sensing, and waveguide or photonic-device design, where knowing the resonantside helps predict where peak responses or energy localization will occur.
