The magnitude of rengasjännitettä is directly proportional to the applied pressure and the radius of the object. Conversely, it is inversely proportional to the thickness of the object's wall. This means that a higher pressure or a larger radius will result in greater hoop stress, while a thicker wall will reduce it. The formula for calculating hoop stress in a thin-walled cylinder is given by sigma = (P * r) / t, where P is the internal pressure, r is the inner radius, and t is the wall thickness. For thick-walled cylinders, a more complex formula is required.
