Reintegrasi, or reintegration, is the process of enabling individuals or groups to re-enter and participate in mainstream society after a period of exclusion, conflict, or marginalization. The term is used across several fields, including criminal justice, post-conflict peacebuilding, social work, and psychology. In Indonesia, reintegrasi is used in policy discussions of post-conflict reconciliation and the reintegration of former combatants, prisoners, and marginalized communities.

In criminal justice, reintegration programs assist released prisoners and offenders to re-enter society by providing education, job training, employment assistance, housing, health and substance-use treatment, and ongoing supervision. The goal is to reduce recidivism and promote stable, law-abiding life.

In post-conflict settings, reintegration is a core objective of disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) programs, which aim to transform ex-combatants into peaceful citizens through livelihoods support, training, psychosocial services, and community reconciliation, while also addressing security concerns and governance needs. Successful reintegration relies on community acceptance and sustainable development.

In social psychology and sociology, reintegration describes the re-entry of individuals into social networks and roles after illness, disability, or trauma, emphasizing functioning, employment, relationships, and social participation.

Key elements commonly associated with successful reintegration include access to sustainable livelihoods, housing, healthcare, education and training, psychosocial support, community acceptance, and robust social and legal protections. Challenges include stigma, limited funding, security issues, and weak institutions. Evaluation often focuses on employment outcomes, social inclusion, safety, and the rate of re-exclusion.
