Reflected wave refers to a phenomenon in physics and engineering where a wave encounters a boundary or interface and bounces back into the medium from which it originated. This occurs due to the principle of wave reflection, which is governed by the laws of physics such as the conservation of energy and the properties of the medium through which the wave travels.

In the context of electromagnetic waves, such as light or radio waves, reflection happens when a wave strikes a surface with different impedance or refractive index.
