reduktioiden

Reduktioiden is the Finnish plural/genitive of reduktio, meaning reductions. The term is used across disciplines to denote processes, methods, or results in which something is made smaller, simpler, or lower in oxidation state. Finnish academic writing uses reduktiot or reduktioiden when listing reductions such as logical, chemical, linguistic, or computational reductions.

In logic, a reductio ad absurdum is a proof method in which one assumes the opposite of a statement and derives a contradiction, thereby establishing the original claim.
