Recodo, also known as El Recodo, is a rural locality in Guasave Municipality in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. It lies in the northwestern part of the country, within an agricultural area that forms part of the coastal plain region. The name Recodo derives from the Spanish word recodo, meaning a bend or curve, a reference to a geographic feature in the area.

The community is best known for its musical heritage through La Original Banda El Recodo, one of the most famous banda groups in Mexico. The band was formed in 1938 by Cruz Lizárraga in El Recodo and took the town’s name as its own. Over the decades it helped popularize the banda genre beyond regional borders and remains influential in both Mexican and international music scenes.

Economically, Recodo relies largely on agriculture and related services. The surrounding lands support crops typical of Sinaloa’s coastal plain, and local commerce serves agricultural activity as well as daily needs of residents.
